If you currently live in, or have had ancestral connections in, any of the following 56 townlands in the Ballinascreen, Moneymore or Brackaghslievegallion divisions of the former Drapers’ Company Estate, then you are extremely fortunate. Ballinascreen Historical Society’s two forthcoming books on the Drapers’ Company’s Tenantry (1874-1905) will undoubtedly provide a rich resource for family history, emigration details or even, in some cases, nicknames. 

The harrowing stories of your family’s eviction, or threatened eviction, may also appear, mainly using extracts from newspapers of the time. Details of the Draperstown Eviction Riot and the final arbitration process are also included; as well as hundreds of family details and dozens of illustrations. Only 200 copies of each book have been printed, so please keep checking for book launch events in early October.
